This is our prayer archival where we keep our prayers that have been answered. Remember, an answer does NOT always mean we have obtained what we had asked, and there is various reasons for that. I have tried to help us all understand this a little better with the short writing I prepared below:
Always remember, sometimes our prayers are answered with a resounding YES! And at those times, we rejoice. Those are wonderful times!
At other times, it takes days, months, years, decades, or even a lifetime to obtain an answer we have been praying for. During waiting times like this, remember-even though hard-it teaches us patience; which is a fruit of the Spirit. Additionally, when our prayers are delayed like this, it might be because God is trying to teach us something in the waiting. Sometimes the time is just not right. Sometimes it is interference from the devil as God’s angels try to bring us the desired answer (Daniel 10). Other times, the timing is not right for the thing to be granted. Whatever the reason during these times, we need to trust the Lord.
One last thing to keep in mind is Just as an earthly father says has to say no for various reasons, sometimes our Heavenly Father must answer no too. This is never easy, especially when things we are asking for are denied us or taken from us. But remember, God is our Father and He will teach us and train us sometimes in unpleasant ways (Hebrews 12:6-7; Revelations 3:19).
Also, we must keep in mind, that not all prayers are answered the way we want them to be for various reasons. Many times the reasons are far beyond all of our understandings. But, the hidden blessing in unanswered prayer-even though heart breaking-teaches us self-discipline, respect for God and others, and obedience to our parents (this includes our Heavenly Father God). This is why we find in the Lord’s prayer that we are to say Your will be done. These words, when truly spoken, cause us to recognize the Lordship of God, not ourselves.
One last thing I want us all to remember is that even Jesus, the only begotten (truly born) Son of God, had at least one of His prayers denied and that was in the Garden when He asked the Father to take away the death sentence of the cross. Even though Jesus, the very Son of God, pleaded with much tears and sorrow and everything that was in Him; God, His Father, said no (Luke 22:41-44). So sometimes no means there are bigger things at stake, EVEN IF WE DON’T UNDERSTAND AND EVEN THOUGH IT HURTS MORE THAN ANYTHING-even to the point of feeling betrayed. We must be like Jesus and say, “Your will be done.” As we remain. as He did, faithful and obedient to the Father.
